in the Alps, at 4810m.
This summit requires
very good

this challenge requires

Mt Kilimanjaro

Eiger Mittellegi £2895
Dufourspitze £2195
The iconic shape of the
Matterhorn towers above
the Swiss village of
Zermatt. The ridgeline
of the Hornli Arete is the
most common route
choice, though some of
our teams elect to climb
via the longer and
slightly more technical
Lion Ridge from Cervinia
in Italy. A brilliant week
of Alpine climbing.
Flexibility and a 'can-do' attitude
We know that with trips aiming for a specific summit, there are a huge amount of variables to juggle; weather windows, matching climbing teams, motivational levels, and which guide. With over 20 years of experience, let us worry about all these elements, and you just focus on the summit!
Flexibility is key, and our logistics team is there to support you every step of the way, to maximise your summit chances. It's all the largely unseen work behind the scenes that puts you in the right place at the right time. Our work ethic and atitude are to do everything safely to get you to the top.
The interest in endurance and ultra races has exploded, and whilst our guiding team have been keenly undertaking these monumental events for their own personal challenges, but we've developed a series of challanges where you can tackle some of these legendary events, at a more manageable pace.
A classic example is the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, which makes a full circuit of Mont Blanc, over 170km long, with 10,000m of vertical height gain, visiting the three countries of France, Italy and Switzerland.
Our skills courses are designed with a focus on teaching you, not just leading you. The technical syllabus of the course includes key areas that we want to share with you, and on many skills courses there are optional extra training sessions or talks, to help you in a more classroom based environment.
To give you a flavour of the type of skills we teach, here is a ropework and knots video, for climbers and glacier skiers to get a refresher of some of the most common knots that they may encounter during their week.
In the snowy winter months, you can snowshoe to the Grand Saint Bernard monastery, which straddles the border between Switzerland and Italy, and spend the night there high in the mountains. Famously it was visited by Napoleon, when his armies crossed the Alps into Italy.
There are options of meeting your guide in Chamonix (Fra) or Martigny (Swi), and we provide snowshoes and safety equipment, as well as the half board stay in the monastery. A weekend adventure with a real difference.
