Leaders / coaches & personal trainers Films from our running courses Qualified internationally to lead
Liberating - There is nothing more pure than mountain running through the stunning scenery of the hills, and it is no wonder mountain running is so popular.
Hill skills - Whether you are a frequent runner, or are relatively new to the sport, there is lots to learn about to help you adapt to running in the mountains.
Adapting - Skills include the choice of kit, coping with different terrain, the use of poles, running on steep ground, what to eat, the effects of altitude, and more.
All levels - Our range of mountain running spans skill levels from those just starting out off road, to experienced mountain and ultra runners.
Coaching - Many course leaders are also dual qualified as Personal Trainers and as International Mountain Leaders / Mountain Leaders (Summer).
No egos - An elite runner doesn't equate to a good coach. They must be highly qualified, professional and approachable. Trails beat egos!
Experience - These finisher jackets of the UTMB & TDG races belong to our head running leader. We think that there no one out there who is more credible!

For our Alpine running trips, all leaders hold the prestigious UIMLA International Mountain Leader qualification, and have a valid Carte Professionelle to work legally. Being led by someone without these qualifications, would often invalidate your activities insurance in event of an emergency. Please click on the images below for more information about our guiding team, and their qualifications.

Trail running advice
Come in for a cuppa!
We are based in the spiritual home of fell and mountain running, the Lake District. Get in touch if you would like to come in for a cuppa to talk about our running trips, and meet one of our experienced trip advisers or a member of our running guiding team. They can help advise about which trip would suit you best, and about kit and your training before a holiday. It's as important to us, as it is to you, that you select a trip that fits your experience and aspirations perfectly, so we're keen to encourage you to take the time and chat through your plans. Our shop also stocks a growing range of running kit. See you soon!
Kingsley - Icicle lead trail running guide
Yes, those are some of my finisher jackets above, but I'll let them do the talking. For me the greatest joy is teaching people how to run efficiently and with a lower impact, in the fells and mountains of the UK and abroad. Below is a film from a day running with my dog in the Lakes!
