Extending
your stay in Chamonix prior to your course
Many of our customers choose to extend their stay
in Chamonix, just before their course,
in order to acclimatise or do their own mountain activities. Climbers often use the extra day to get their mountain legs back after travel, or to start their acclimatisation, whilst skiers way desire a warm up day, and trekkers & runners an extra day to enjoy the trails above the Chamonix valley.

Arriving
1 night early for your course?
Most week long courses run from Sunday to
Saturday, but we can often assist if you require
the Saturday night before your course. The
cost is £75, and it's one of the options
for the Acclimatisation Weekends (link).
If you wish alternative accommodation, look
at the list below for options to suit all
budgets. If arriving for night(s) early before
your course, please leave your baggage in
the hotel luggage room until the Icicle check
in from 16:00, as we are not open and do not
have space for luggage storage. Sorry, we cannot accommodate extra nights after your course.
What is the accommodation check in proceedure?
The week long course check in is from 16:00
on the Sunday. At 17:00 there is the course
briefing, which usually takes an hour, so
please note that if you are arriving after
18:00 on the Sunday you will miss the briefing,
and directions
to the flat will be sent to you via WhatsApp for a late self check-in. The check out it at 10:00
on the Saturday. Please note that we are closed
between 12:00 on Saturday and 16:00 on Sunday,
so if your return airport transfer leaves
later or incoming airport transfer arrives
early, you need to be aware that there is
nowhere close in Chamonix with bag storage
facilities, and we do not offer this service
either.

One
night accommodation extensions
When
our usual course accommodation is full, we work
with a range or partner hotels and chalets to offer extra nights.
We don't specify exactly which hotel or chalet you
stay in, as this is dependant on availability when
you book. We can book this for you, subject to availability,
for extra nights where we are full. If there is
space in your usual course accommodation, each extra
night is c.£75pp per night. |
Accommodation extensions for less than a week
If
you are planning on staying for between two nights
and a week before (or any nights after) your course, then you
must book this directly yourself. If you are looking
to extend your stay, here are some options (not
recommendations) of accommodation in different categories.
Most providers only accept bookings of 3 nights
or more. We cannot make any reservations on your
behalf, as all these options require your personal
credit card details (in cases where a reservation
deposit is required). The walking distance with
baggage in minutes from the course accommodation
is also detailed - we have timed them! Approximate
rates are also provided for single rooms (where
available) and twin / shared rooms. These rates
are 'from' tariffs taken from the hotel websites,
and so are not fixed rates. They are indicative
for the purposes of price comparison only. Check
